  • Fostering Acadia is a licensed child-placing agency through the Virginia Department of Social Services. Fostering Acadia serves foster youth between 17-21 years of age.

  • IL for a Day is an event where youth interested in our program can spend the day at Fostering Acadia! They are paired with a current youth in the program and a Fostering Acadia staff member. The interested youth will participate in a mock grocery shopping trip, extended tour of all Fostering Acadia campuses, meet and greet with Fostering Acadia employer partnerships, an IL event, and dinner out with the members of the Fostering Acadia team.   • Yes! Fostering Acadia works with apartment complexes across the city of Richmond to provide housing that meets the differing needs of our youth. Each youth will get their own 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment. If you are a single parent, you will receive a 2-bedroom apartment for you and your child.

  • Yes! As long as you have a reliable job and the ability to pay for the pet deposit and monthly pet fee. The pet must also be approved by Fostering Acadia staff and the leasing office of the campus you are staying at.

  • Yes! Fostering Acadia has a full-time teacher and an educational center. We can help you with your high school or college educational goals. We also have a partnership with Penn Foster, in which you can participate in your educational goals online.

  • Yes! Fostering Acadia has a car incentive program. When a youth has at least $1,000.00 in their savings account and a reliable job, Fostering Acadia will put money towards a car for them. Contact Fostering Acadia directly to find out how much!
